BMW expands EV charging network to Langkawi with two 11-kW AC chargers

BMW Group Malaysia together with Tian Siang Premium Auto today opened two new EV charging facilities at The Datai Langkawi, a five-star beach Resort on Langkawi Island. Covered in a wooden encasing at the entrance of the beach resort, the charging facilities are two 11-kW AC BMW i Wallbox Gen 2 chargers. Only resort guests can access the chargers.

In conjunction with the unveiling of the chargers, BMW is also inviting the guests of The Datai Langkawi to experience the BMW iX through a limited-time test drive opportunity. This is to further accelerate the adoption of electromobility on the island.

BMW Group Malaysia Head of Corporate Communications, Sashi Ambi said, “BMW Group Malaysia has always believed that sustainability is a shared responsibility. As we continue to realise our vision of carbon-neutral mobility in Malaysia through our premium fully electric BMW i vehicles and the expansion of our comprehensive BMW i Charging network, we are pleased to collaborate with like-minded partners, such as The Datai Langkawi – alongside our dealer, Tian Siang Premium Auto.”

“This partnership underlines our commitment to providing a Premium Electric Ownership Experience to all electric vehicle (EV) owners across the country – an experience that exemplifies sustainable luxury and is in tandem with our national agenda for electrification in Malaysia.”
